We serve fresh food as fast as we can. Busy days can mean a slightly longer wait than the norm. We serve food all afternoon, so if you fancy a long walk along the Moors, or you got a little lost on your planned hike, rest assured we will be here serving 12-8pm each day, except Sunday, when we finish food service at 4pm.
We serve a delicious roast dinner on Sundays apart from through the summer. Typically a roast Devonshire Beef and Pork with all the trimmings, and a superb nut roast also! Sunday sittings start at 12pm and again at 2.30pm.
We do keep a few tables back for non bookings, but these are obviously not guaranteed to be available.

We are pleased to announce that we take bookings online for dates within the next 4 months
Please note we do not take bookings for our outside tables, tables are first come first served.
Please be aware that our kitchen open times are: 12-8 Monday-Saturday and 12-4 Sunday.
Also the bar will Close between 8 and 9 Monday- Saturday and 4 on Sundays.

Nestled in the heart of the village with spectacular view over Hameldown, The Old Inn offers everything you may expect from a moorland pub. From log fires in the winter and beautiful moorland garden for al fresco dining throughout the year.
We are offering freshly prepared home cooked classic dishes as well as modern british cuisine. We try where we can to source locally and sustainably, with regular menu updates to provide you with the most seasonal of ingredients.
Whether it be a quick pint of local ale or a glass of fine wine, light lunch or a hearty meal, The Old Inn has everything you could possibly need after a stroll along the moors.
Well behaved dogs are always welcome inside as well as outside, Dogs are required to be on a lead at all times.

Widecombe Fair
Second Tuesday of September each year
Widecombe fair is held every year on the second Tuesday of September, The Fair itself has become world famous thanks to the old folk song and Uncle Tom Cobley and his grey mare! Widecombe fair day opening hours are 10am – 5pm. After this time you will find The Old Inn team enjoying the evening offerings of the fair themselves and offering our support to the beer tent. Due to the sheer number of people in the village that day we can not take table reservations, however, we have lots of space to rest those weary legs so pop in for a pasty or a ploughmans and say hi.
